Music

1 Chronicles 16:8-10 “Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.

The purpose of the Music Ministry at Holy Cross Lutheran Church is to lead the church to worship through  music, to not be an end in itself, and to help provide the congregation with a meaningful worship, as well as musical experience. Our priority is dual – vertical as well as horizontal, as we worship, lift our offering, and do so corporately in this place.

There are multiple existing ensembles presently within the Ministry of Music, including:

  • Rainbow Choir: a children’s choir
  • Holy Cross Ringers:  a hand bell choir for all ages
  • Now The Feast Band: a small ensemble band that leads worship for certain lituries and musical settings.
  • SonRise Singers:  an adult choir with a varied musical repertoire, centered on a more “contemporary” genre.
  • Cathedral Choir:   an adult choir with a varied musical repertoire, centered on a more “traditional” genre.
  • Solos, Ensembles: Individuals and other ensembles are strongly encouraged to participate, whether vocally or instrumentally.
